We asked to hear from businesses, representative bodies and anyone with an interest in pay gaps on our planned approach to enforcing the gender pay gap regulations.
About the consultation
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is the body responsible for making sure that employers comply with the law on gender pay gap reporting.
We have a range of powers that we can use to enforce the law and we set out our draft policy on how we plan to use our powers in this case.
We want employers to follow the law without the need for formal enforcement action. However, we will take action where employers do not comply with the requirement to publish their data, despite our encouragement to do so.
We welcomed comments on our planned approach from businesses and representative bodies. The consultation closed on 2 February 2018. We are now looking at responses and the final version of the policy will be published shortly.
