This is the cover for Research report 55: Gender pay gap reporting survey 2009

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has been asked by the government to report annually on the progress made towards gender pay transparency and to advise the government on what the trigger might be to activate Clause 78. This research was carried out to determine what employers in the private and voluntary sectors are currently doing to measure and report on gender pay gaps, that is, before any voluntary measures are developed, and to explore the reasons for measuring and reporting (or for not doing so) among these employers. These figures will act as a baseline for future studies. Furthermore the research sought to ascertain what could be done to encourage these employers to measure and report on their gender pay gap.
