This briefing paper uses data from the 2011 Workplace Employment Relations Study to investigate small and medium-sized enterprises or organisations in the private and voluntary sectors. It compares workplaces from SMEs with those from large organisations in an analysis of: organisation characteristics; workforce profiles; employment relations, including equality issues; and employee views.
