Briefing in support of amendments tabled to the Modern Slavery Bill: House of Lords

23 February 2015

This briefing supports proposed amendments to Clauses 1, 41, 45, 47, 48 and 51, New Clauses after Clauses 47, 49 and 51, and a new Schedule after Schedule 2 to the Modern Slavery Bill.  These amendments improve the protections in the Bill by providing clearer and more comprehensive protection for victims of slavery and trafficking, in line with the UK’s obligations under EU Anti Trafficking Directive 2011/36/EU (the Directive) and international human rights instruments.
