Ensuring strong equalities legislation after EU exit inquiry: our response to the Women and Equalities Committee inquiry

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has a statutory power to advise government on the effectiveness of equalities and human rights law. Following the UK’s decision to leave the EU it will carefully scrutinise and advise government and Parliament on proposals which have implications for the protection or advancement of equality and human rights in the UK, and will seek opportunities to preserve and enhance protections.
