We asked Citizens Advice to produce a toolkit for advisers on discrimination in the workplace.

The toolkit will also be useful for individuals looking for guidance on their own circumstances.

The toolkit can help you to:

  • understand how equality law works
  • identify or rule out unlawful discrimination
  • write a formal complaint about something which happened at work (a grievance letter)
  • take a case to tribunal

The toolkit includes templates for letters, documents and forms that you might need when looking into a discrimination case.

The guides are available on the Citizens Advice website:

Do you work for an advice organisation or a trade union?

If you work for an advice organisation or a trade union you can get help on equality and human rights issues using our EHRC Adviser Support service.
