Since 2005 we’ve had a team of Independent Domestic Violence Advisors co-located with Northumbria Police in the same office area. Referrals are received much more quickly generally from the Police, so an Officer may attend and know that sitting at the desk across the way is a Victim Support Advisor... it hopefully puts Victims much more at the forefront of everyone’s mind.
