Equality and Human Rights Commission

We run an advice line to support trade unions, Citizens Advice Bureaux and employment/discrimination rights advisers dealing with individual cases concerning Sex Discrimination (including transgender and equal pay), Sexual Orientation Discrimination, Age Discrimination, Disability Discrimination, Race Discrimination and Religion and/or Belief Discrimination.

The Specialist Advice Line is staffed by legal officers who provide a specialised advisory service to representatives and advisers on legal claims.

Our legal officers can advise and guide you about:

• the implications of the law and legal developments for the individual you are advising, or representing with a legal claim
• completing legal processes and procedures and framing legal arguments to maximise the potential for a successful outcome
• the potential for Commission funding on the case.
