EHRC - Call for Evidence

Equality and Human Rights Commission

Our job is to promote equality and human rights, and to create a fairer Britain. We do this by providing advice and guidance, working to implement an effective legislative framework and raising awareness of your rights.

Call for Evidence

Please note: the submission deadline has now passed.

This Call for Evidence is just one way we will seek input from our stakeholders.

We want to know what it feels like to experience discrimination and how it affects peoples’ lives. It is this sort of feedback - real life examples and illustrations - that we would like to get from this Call for Evidence.

We would like to hear from people from our ‘protected equality groups’ i.e. who due to age, disability, gender, race, religion and belief, sexual orientation or gender reassignment, experience disadvantage or discrimination OR organisations or bodies of representatives of these groups of people OR organisations that lobby on behalf of these ‘protected equality groups.

What happens next?

We will use the feedback from this process to better understand who is experiencing the most severe discrimination, the most significant breaches of human rights and the most negative relationships with other individuals and groups. Our analysis will focus on our protected strand groups - age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, religion and belief, sexual orientation.

We will also be giving stakeholders opportunities to comment on our analysis and conclusions early next year.
