Give me more

Female builder wearing a hard hatIf you would like to find out more about sex equality issues and what you can do if you experience sex discrimination, have a look around our website. There is lots of information and advice that you may find interesting or useful.

  • There is a whole section on our Equality and Human Rights Commission website that gives detailed information about your rights at work
  • If you want to know about being treated differently as a woman or man by services like accommodation, pubs and night clubs, private clubs, sports and leisure facilities, by banks or insurance companies, visit our section about your rights as a consumer
  • We have a lot of factual publications on the site, which could be of personal interest but may also be useful if you're doing a project at school or college.  A good place to look is in our research publications section, for example under statistics about women and men in Britain.
  • You may want to visit our works4me microsite.  This has been designed specifically for young people and looks at the world of work, career choices, apprenticeships, work experience, and how to get the most out of the options available.
  • There is information about school uniforms and discrimination in our section on your rights at school and college.

Now it's your turn

We hope that you have these pages a useful insight into the areas of discrimination that young people can face. Remember: just becasue you are young- it doesn't mean you have no rights, or a voice to air them.
