Organised by 4NW, Government Office North West and NHS North West, in conjunction with the North West Equality and Diversity Group, this free seminar is for policy makers and practitioners from all sectors.
Keynote speakers from Equality and Human Rights Commission and Greater Manchester Police; specialist workshops on older women, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, women with disabilities, ethnic minorities and male victims.
The event will help you to:
- Find out more about how domestic violence affects older women; lesbians, gay men, bisexual and transgendered people; disabled women and those from ethnic minority communities.
- Hear from specialist support services and share good practice
- Have your say on how services could be improved so that all victims of domestic violence have access to appropriate support, taking into account their age, sexuality, disability, cultural background and gender
This is a unique opportunity for practitioners and policy makers from the Police, NHS, Local Authorities, Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships and the voluntary sector to share ideas and experiences with specialist projects who work with specific groups or communities.

Workshops will be led by experts from Broken Rainbow, Barnados Phoenix Project, Trafford Housing Trust, Leeds Inter-Agency Project, Women’s Aid and the Men’s Advice Line.
There will be a chance to put your questions to a panel of speakers from statutory and voluntary sector agencies and plenty of opportunity for networking over lunch.
