What is discrimination in employment?

The Disability Discrimination Act covers most disabled employees. You are also protected when you apply for a job and after you have left a job.
The law must first recognise you as a disabled person. We explain this and also the different types of discrimination that are covered by the law. Not all unfair treatment is unlawful.
Sometimes employers have the right to defend their actions. We advise you on how the law allows them to justify their treatment of a disabled person.
