Equality and Human Rights Commission

The Commission is undertaking an exercise to monitor how local authorities were paying due regard to the previous equality duties (on gender, race and disability equality) when making financial decisions.

We have contracted IFF Research to gather information from all local authorities in England to demonstrate their compliance with these duties, with a focus on the following three areas:

1. Services targeting violence against women, including specialist support services provided through the voluntary sector.
2. Funding to organisations providing information and advice to ethnic minority groups on areas such as discrimination and employment law, debt management and housing.
3. Transport services used by disabled people that enable them to access employment, education and social participation.
