  • EHRC Scotland welcomes Human Trafficking and Exploitation (Scotland) Bill - The Equality & Human Rights Commission in Scotland warmly welcomes the passing of the Human Trafficking and Exploitation (Scotland) Bill in the Scottish Parliament. This important legislation comes after the Commission’s groundbreaking 2010 inquiry into the nature and extent of human trafficking in Scotland.

  • How well is Scotland “Measuring Up” for Equality? -The Equality & Human Rights Commission publishes the fourth in a series of reports which track the performance of Scottish public bodies against their duties under the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Regulations 2012. 

  • New partnership to tackle LGBTI hate crime in Scotland- A major new project to increase reporting rates of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) hate crime in Scotland has been announced by the Equality and Human Rights Commission. 

  • Commission publishes research into prejudice-based bullying in schools in ScotlandThe Equality and Human Rights Commission has today published new research into the scale and impact of prejudice-based bullying in Scottish secondary schools. The research, based on findings from 1,250 pupils and 330 teachers, concludes that procedures for supporting pupils being bullied could be improved.
