Board meetings

Board and Committee Governance

Our Board of Commissioners is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the EHRC.

We also have three statutory Committees whose roles are set out in the Equality Act 2006

We have two additional non-statutory committees established by the Commission support and inform our decision-making and work programme.

  • Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC)
  • Human Resources and Remuneration Committee (HRRC)

ARAC and HRRC are both chaired by a Commissioner and have both commissioner and independent membership.

Board members are required to declare and register any relevant interests (pecuniary or non-pecuniary, direct or indirect) or material benefit received that might be capable of causing a conflict of interest.
